4 giggly girls on the wrong side of the road

Roadtrip that starts and ends at the airport? 4 giggly girls with one coffee each, tried to pick up a rental car from the airport. Not problem free and the guy was slightly tired of us (didn't dare to be amused when Ania's friend says, "Last time I drove I was in an accident") but we finally got it and it was not easy driving on the wrong side of the road at first. But most of the signs say "Drive on the left" so we got reminded at least. It was quite a spontaniously planned trip by Ania and Sili and I had no clue where we were going.

Ania, yours truely, Sili and Jana
First stop was Fort William located 3h north west of Edinburgh. The town has 3000 inhabitants, one good fish restaurant and one pub with crazy people playing pool. They were quite interested in our card games, not as impressed by our lack of pool skills tho.
Ready to go home we meet this New Jersey guy with the funniest sarcastic attitude (also honest) towards the city, quite a difference considering where he was from! Anyways, he convinced us to join them to the only "club" in town. He promised mainstream music and "enough space to roll around on the floor without anyone touching you". How can one say no to that? £ 3 entry to this teendisco place and of course, the same people that also were in the pub (I mean, who else?).

So why does one go to this god-for-saken place? Well, close to it there is the nature and waterfalls in Glen Nevis (Highlands). It's fun to drive on these small serpentine roads, however, Scottish people drive like madmen (almost like the Irish) and there are big signs saying "Frustration causes accidents, please allow overtake"
Anyways, we found it and walked around in the stunning nature. Went off the road and into more miry and wet grounds. Don't think I'm able to be in the middle of nowhere without having a Gabby moment! I'm walking in the wet grounds, the problem occurs when I continue to walk but my shoes don't! I look behind me and they're stuck in the mud. No wonder my feet got so wet! So typical me! So I found a little stream and dipped both shoes and socks, old school laundry. Almost heard the sheep laugh at me.
Lost city diva in action.

The trip continued to Loch Ness. That's a big loch, but not more special than the others. Said hello to Nessie and continued to Inverness (the city in the end of the loch). Walked around but there wasn't much to see so we continued up north to Ullapool. Amazing nature just by the sea, but if we thought Fort William was small, this place only had 2000 inhabitants!

Explored the city, had "the best take out in the UK" (wonder how the judges even found the place?) and found a pub to play cards. Yet again we got loads of attention and were surrounded by guys who wanted to play with us. Everyone we met were really nice and genuine people. They really love their city and they're just themselves. No one was after anything, just wanting to socialize. However, the back side of the small cities with nothing to do but to drink, the alcohol problems are quite obvious which is very sad. Anyways, we went to the next pub, that was open til 12 (don't think there were any nightclubs here). Got some more drinks and then walked the 50 m back to the hostel (had to be in before 12 when they locked the door!).

Ania's getting dacing lessons from Euan.

Where's the beach? After breakfast the trip continued down east again to Aberdeen, typical small industrial city, that promised the Fun Beach. We came and saw nothing else than 10 cm of sand, not very impressive. However, we did appreciate the international market in the city centre with Dutch crepes! Yum!
In the evening we came back to reality in Edinburgh. I've actually been studying quite a bit but now the weekend is off. Just gonna enjoy the time I have left here. You know it has come to that time now, when there's about 1 month left and all the questions are "How long are you staying" "When are you leaving" Hate them!! Anyways, enjoy time, it goes by too quickly!
