Midsummer

Midsummer is one of the Swedish traditions most people hold dear. Tradition is to go to some public place with a big park, decorate a pole with flowers and dance around it. It's a celebration of fertility and summer. Not everyone do these things but mostly have lunch and dinner with friends and family outside, play games, drink loads (of course) and eat traditional meals such as herring, potatoes and schnapps. It's also one of the most drunken holidays with most car accidents (because of all people driving to summer houses), crimes and accidents.

For some reason I've never been to found of this holiday. It's just so many expectations, because everyone loves it and it's so great. This changed this year. I had a great, spontanous day with some friends. We played games, had a BBQ and just hung out. Great time, simple and fun.

My other summerplans? I worked at a golf tournament the other day, fun but just a one day event and I'll hopefully get more opportunities. Otherwise, I'm just relaxing, having coffee with friends, detoxing and don't party that hard (I'm worn out) and hopefully will get my ass down to Germany to say hi to some people! Will keep you posted!
