3 days of Erasmus

Reuinited. Since I am a good friend, I went to the airport to pick Elena up (even after a quite crazy night out, had to celebrate the end of my "dry week"). However, I might be nice, but I'm even more confused- so it took me 45 min to find her, I was at the wrong arrivals and her phone didn't work (as usual). But she was happy when I finally found her.

We spent Sunday walking around in the city, exploring. Conquered Arthur's seat (a big hill with a great view), the way up was ok, crazy exercise. The way down however, slightly dangerous. I got this great idea of an alternative way down, just a steep wall without any stairs or anything. (Of course I fell) We realized afterwards why we were the only one choosing that one, everyone else wasn't suicidal. Anyways, we survived, celebrated with some hot chocolate and continued through old town and up to the castle.

After dinner I took her to the very Scottish pub, White hart in (I've published a video of it earlier) and enjoyed some wine and pints. Met some friends of mine, listened to live music and just had a chill evening. Very pleasant.

Monday. Unfortunately I had to go to uni on Monday, so Elena got to see my campus and meet some people. I was going to "park" her at the computers but then Raphael says, "Oh no, me and Johannes decided she stays here so we can interview her". I was slightly nervous but Elena approved and I went to class. She was in one piece when I came back, fits right in with all the other Germans.
After uni we went shopping, think we did well- until my card stopped working and Elena had to lend me £1 so I could pay in cash, oops. Maybe it went too well?
As usual we had to have Indian dinner, went back to my place for some pre-party with Maddy & her Brittish friends and Sili & Ania. After loads of texting and discussion with different people here and there we went to Lulu (a club) and the party continued: loads of drinks, dancing and talking to random people.

When we left I was among the last to leave with Ania and Sili. While we're outside I see Malcolm and ask: "Where's Elena?"
He replies "We put her in a cab (with Maddy & Jack) back home."
I was slightly confused "No, Malcolm, just tell me where she is."
"Seriuosly Gabby, we put her in a cab, I said I'd come and get you." Haha, everything was very interesting but I found her at my place, playing Mariokart. The early morning continued with TVgames, late-night-snacks and some mild porno photo session (don't ask).

I asked Elena if she wanted Charlotte's room, "Nooo, I want your bed". Thought so, it was cozy, there's enough space for both of us. Altho, she might look peaceful and harmless but she's quite agressive when she sleeps!

Chill Tuesday. I love that Elena is not one of those that has to go up super early and see everything. We had a chill morning and went with Maddy & Malcolm to the beach in Cramond in the after noon. A lovely and calm Tuesday, walking among sand, trees, birds and water falls.

After that we went for Mexican dinner with Sili and Ania, continued at the Brassmonkey for some tea and finally ended up at the pubquiz with Sara and Louise. Just about all the places you need to see here in Edinburgh, so I think Elena had her Erasmus (exchange) experience for a few days. The Scottish experience consisted of drinking Irn-Bru (more popular softdrink than Coke), pints, seeing the highland cow Hamish on the post cards, people in kilts on the street and clubbing with the Scottish girls in their tiny dresses. That's Scottland!

Alone again. Wednesday was a very sad day when I dropped her off at the bus. But I'm happy she came, not sad that she left. Hopefully it wont be long til next time.
