Making Paddy proud

Why suddenly so many (non Irish) parts of the world decide to celebrate Irland's national day by dressing up in green I won't understand. But I guess it's a great day and yet another reason to party (get drunk). Some of you might wonder;

Well, he's a Irish saint who brought Christianity to Ireland. He thought he was special, had some vision (also called hallucinations) and when he died it became THE Irish day of the year.

It's quite an important day in Edinburgh as well because of all the Irish. Since I'm so eager to get to know all the new traditions, it was my duty to spread the Irish spirit and have a St Paddy's Party in my flat with Charlotte and Maddy. I was so happy that they liked my idea of making T-shirts and not considered me to be a complete freak.

The flat was decorated with clovers, balloons and green jello shots served to the guests. Who ever did not show up in anything green would have their nails painted with my (poison) green nail polish. Hence, I did not start that, one of the Brittish guys did! I was simply inspired!

However, other people just got decorated with clovers. It was a good party with a great crowd. Everyone was happy and in good spirit. Some of the flat parties around here have been fairly crazy but here, nothing got broken, no complaints and no smoking in the stairways. Even better was to see their lovely but tired faces the day after and get a tired comment of "Thanks for the party Gabby..." Hehe.
The only thing missing was of course my 5 favorite Irish that prefered Jamaica to Edinburgh, can't see why? Hope to see you next time!
