Lost in the Highlands

Highland and Scottish country dancing. I joined Sara (Sweden) and Louise (Denmark) to go highland dancing last thursday. We were expecting normal country dancing... The teacher didn't seem impressed by us in general, explained that this was related to balett and gave us a hint that "you might wanna stretch first". Said and done, to the tunes of aggressive bagpipe music we jumped around, kicking legs here and there, with our own intrepretation of balett vs. river dancing... To give you a hint of what it looks like, Click here.
This was not the end of the evening, we ended up at another place where they danced the country style where you dance around in pairs in different formations, circles, squares... you name it... Fairly special people who enjoy this hobby and after serious consideration I think I have to turn down the offer of going on a dance trip to Hungary with them...

Lost in the Highlands. On Saturday, I went with on a trip to the west coast and the city Oban. In the middle of the lowlands and highlands, we stopped for coffee and to meet the biggest celebrity in the area, the cow Hamish. He was famous 'cause he was the only cow that wasn't slaughtered during the mad-cow disease in the 90's. Hamish is more or less a brand and you could by his picture on T-shirts, key chains and mugs....My only concern is that the entire towns economy is based on this fury cow... I don't believe this is the only "original", I think this is Hamish the 5th and the myth just continues....Conspiracy!

The trip continued passing by glorious landscapes, lochs and castles untill we finally reached Oban. Oban was a tiny little town by the sea, cute and amazing fish n' chips!

Soo Scottish...

When coming back to Edinburgh, me and Ania joined my flatmates to a Edinburgh Uni party. A flat party with 100 random people. Mingle mania, again. But it was fun! They were lovely and afterwards we went to a cool lounge and a club with some friends from Napier. Good day, evening and night.

Brass Monkey. My plans to behave this week crashed and the magic number of 5 pub nights / week is fulfilled this week as well. I had drinks with some Spanish guys on Sunday at Brass Monkey, a pub where you sit on madrasses and among pillows and they show movies... so comfy! Dangerous when you're a bit tired tho... Stupid as I am I promised to talk Spanish that day but it went ok =) they understood me at least.
New week, new events happening, will update you soon
Cheers
